Making a list and checking it twice

The New York Times published this wonderful article that included a list for Happiness. It was a series of questions to answer in writing every day. I have been doing the list for quite some time now and indeed feel it has dramatically increased my sense of peace and overall happiness. I have shared it with a number of my friends and they report the same result.

Here is the List:

What positive event happened today?

Who should I tell?

What am I grateful for?

What personal strength did I use today and how did I use it?

What progress did I make towards an attainable goal?

What minor stress did I experience today and how can I recast it?

What kindness did I experience? What kindness did I perform for someone else?

What mindfulness did I experience?

I take this list and fill in the answers in my little journal every day. I find it is a great way to start my day and sometimes end it. My girlfriend and I often share what we have written and understood as a result of doing this simple task…

HOWEVER

We have a particularly grumpy Eeyore like acquaintance who refuses to find anything positive anywhere anytime. So for this friend who is so…
